The Office of Student Life at South Seattle College hosts a Cap and Gown Lending Program established to reduce the barriers that many students experience in accessing the required commencement attire. Following is the process for 2023:

  1. Students are asked to submit the online Cap and Gown Request: https://forms.office.com/r/dzSVhu54qX.
The request form closes on Wednesday, May 24 at 4 p.m.
  2. The Office of Student Life will review each request and will contact the student for next steps in the process.
  3. Starting Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8 requested caps and gowns will be available for pick up in the Wellness Center between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students with approved requests will be directed to provide photo ID or Student ID Card to claim their gown.
  4. Cap and gown returns can be submitted to the Wellness Center as early as Monday, July 3.

This year we have eliminated the deposit requirement for students and are instead encouraging students to return their gowns to help support future graduates. This is to say, the program is FREE of any charge. Please keep in mind, we have a limited supply of gowns, and this program is first come first served.

For more information about the Cap and Gown Program, please email SouthStudentLife@Seattlecolleges.edu.
