Order Cap and Gown
Congratulations on your nearing graduation and commencement celebration with family and friends. For centuries, caps, gowns, hoods, stoles, chords, and tassels have been traditionally worn by graduates to mark this significant achievement. Together, this clothing is known as academic regalia.
A cap and gown are required for all graduates participating in the commencement ceremony.
Please note: the information for 2023 is not yet available. Check back in Spring Quarter 2023.
How to Order for 2022
Regalia items for students can be ordered online through your college bookstore from Thursday, April 21, through Friday, June 10. Order by June 10 to guarantee delivery before the June 21 ceremony. Beginning Monday, May 2, all orders will be shipped directly to the address that you provide, or you can select free in-store pick-up at Central and North.
Items and Prices 2022
- Grad bundle (cap, gown, and tassel): $42.98
- Stole: $24.98
- Gold honors cord*: $14.98
- Cap only: $9.98
- Tassel only: $6.98
*Gold academic honors cords are available to students who meet the honors GPA requirement.
Gowns are sized by height. Plus-size gowns are available by checking a box on the order form. When you place your order, Barnes and Noble will follow up and contact you via the email address you provided for height information, if there is a need for plus sized gown, and stole color (if ordered).

Order commencement regalia online through your college bookstore. Click the accordion below to get started. You can also stop into the college bookstores at Central and North to purchase items in person starting Monday, May 2. Unfortunately, caps, gowns, and regalia items will not be available in the campus bookstore at South.

Gown Loan Program 2022
A number of caps and gowns will be available through the Gown Loan Program. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with requests beginning June 6, 2022. For more information, refer to the link below for your college.
North Seattle College grads, complete the form at https://northseattle.edu/graduation/graduation-fair.
Follow-up information will be sent about when and where to pick up your loaner items at North.
Seattle Central College grads, the request form is now closed (as of 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16). A very limited number of loaner caps and gowns will be available at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday, June 21, at 3 p.m., but there is no guarantee we will have your size.
Check with your campus bookstore for any caps and gowns that may be available for in-person pick-up; it is too late to place an online order and receive it in time. You may also explore other options like purchasing from Amazon.com, but please pay attention to the estimated delivery date. Keep in mind Bachelor's degree recipients wear black caps and gowns; all others wear royal blue caps and gowns.
