Faculty and Staff Regalia
Commencement is a formal academic ceremony. Everyone taking part in the procession and ceremony—including students, faculty members, deans, directors, and college leaders—is asked to wear academic regalia. Some may own their gowns and regalia; others may need rental regalia.
Ordering Rental Regalia
Seattle Colleges faculty and staff members who are planning to take part in the procession and ceremony may order rental regalia if they do not have their own. The commencement budget will cover the cost of rental regalia items for faculty and staff. Please submit your order by 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The order form has closed.
Faculty and staff, if you would still like to take part in the processional, reach out to commencement@seattlecolleges.edu.
We have a small assortment of doctoral and master's gowns with caps or tams. We have no academic hoods, but we may be able to equip you with basic attire to allow you to take part.
Please place an order if you are committed to participating in the procession at either the 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. ceremony, or both. The commencement budget incurs the cost for unused regalia, thus reducing the funds available to focus on students.
Rental Regalia Available at Commencement
The ordered rental gowns and regalia items will be available on the day of the ceremony, Thursday, June 18, at UW's Alaska Airlines Arena in the designated preparation space for faculty and staff. Once the ceremony is over, please return the items in their original bag to this area before you leave. Details will be sent to participating faculty and staff via email.
Bring Your Own Regalia
Faculty and staff are welcome to bring their own gowns and regalia to participate in the processional. Feel free to bring your regalia to the designated robing area in the Founder's Lounge on June 18.
