Risk Services

Helping keep Seattle Colleges safe, prepared, and compliant with laws and regulations

DRAFT

Risk management is a concept that helps us identify, understand, and address risks that may affect our students, employees, visitors, operations, and Strategic Plan. Risk management is a shared responsibility. Leadership, subject matter experts, departments, and employees each contribute important knowledge and perspectives to identifying risks, understanding their potential impact, and developing practical solutions.

Risk Services represents the departments, programs, and resources across Seattle Colleges that share responsibility for managing risk. These areas work collaboratively to support safe, accessible, and compliant learning and work environments while protecting our people, resources, and institution. Bringing these services together strengthens collaboration and helps us consider risk across the institution rather than within individual departments or programs.

Our goal is not to eliminate all risk, but to help Seattle Colleges understand and manage risk so that informed decisions can be made, resources can be directed where they are most needed, and we can collectively support a culture of safety, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

This site provides a central location to find guidance, report concerns, access resources, and connect with the appropriate department or subject matter expert.

Compliance and Risk Management Office

The Compliance and Risk Management Office provides leadership and coordination for Seattle Colleges' compliance and enterprise risk management efforts. We partner with leadership, colleges, departments, and subject matter experts to assess institutional risks, strengthen regulatory compliance, support informed decision-making, and develop strategies for addressing areas of significant risk.
