Funding Navigation for Employees

The Funding Navigation Team is committed to supporting college faculty and staff by providing coordinated support and demystifying student funding processes. Following are ways we can help employees.

Training for Faculty and Staff

Funding Navigators can provide training to faculty and staff on a variety of student funding topics, including student funding basics, financial aid 101, and satisfactory academic progress. Email tsetsen.anuurad@seattlecolleges.edu to invite us to your department meeting or schedule a training for your staff.

Canvas Resources for Faculty

Faculty are invited to explore our Student Funding Basics for Faculty course in Canvas.  This is a helpful resource for new faculty onboarding with Seattle Colleges or for seasoned faculty who want to refer back to it as funding questions come up. The modules focus on funding, including financial aid basics and how to get students connected resources.

In Spring 2026, faculty who complete the course and all required activities will be eligible for a stipend equivalent to two hours at the standard noninstructional rate.

In-Class Presentations and Workshops

Funding Navigators want to engage with students where they are. We have a library of activities and workshops we can bring to your classroom, including:

  • Career-Based Budgeting Activity
  • Financial Literacy Basics
  • Campus Resources
  • And more!

Content can be customized to suit your students, including ESL audiences. If your course has learning outcomes involving financial literacy, connections to college resources, and future planning, reach out to your college’s Funding Navigator directly to schedule a class visit.

Collaborative Events

Want to host a funding-related event but need support? We’d love to help. Our team has partnered with departments and programs including Tutoring, TRIO, First Year and Career Experience to plan and host workshops, resource fairs, and presentations. We can assist with content development, outreach and promotion, securing guest speakers, and more. Contact fundingnavigation@seattlecolleges.edu to get started.
