Brent Jones
Interim President of Seattle Central College
Brent C. Jones, Ph.D., was appointed as Interim President of Seattle Central College, effective April 10, 2026.
Dr. Jones has extensive leadership experience across K–12 education, community colleges, and the public sector, along with a strong commitment to student success, equity, and community impact.
He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across community colleges, large urban school systems, and regional government. Most recently, he served as Superintendent of Seattle Public Schools, leading a district of more than 50,000 students and a $1.2 billion budget. He previously served as Vice Chancellor and Chief Human Resources Officer for Seattle Colleges and has served in senior roles in community college systems and regional government.
He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
