Christian J Granlund

As Director of Outreach, I lead student outreach, recruitment, and onboarding efforts, overseeing a team of dedicated Seattle Promise Outreach Specialists. My responsibilities include managing comprehensive outreach programs that engage students, caregivers, community-based organizations (CBOs), high school administrators, counselors, and city agencies. I also act as the primary liaison for Seattle Public Schools administrators and external partners supporting prospective students and caregivers.

My goal is to cultivate strategic and impactful partnerships to dismantle institutional silos and barriers that hinder our ability to effectively support students, while simultaneously building holistic supports that target students furthest from educational justice. Prior to my role with Seattle Promise, I spent a decade within the Seattle Colleges system in various roles that supported the outreach and intake strategies for prospective and new students. Additionally, I worked at Puget Sound Educational Service District fostering impactful cross-sector partnerships that promoted postsecondary access and success, including programs such as King County Promise. Other roles I've held have included Assistant Stage Manager with the Seattle Seahawks, executing gameday presentations.

I was born in Massachusetts, grew up in Seattle, and am a proud Washington State University Alum (Go Cougs!). I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family, including my wife, young daughter, and two dogs.
