Seattle Colleges Students Earn Awards at 2025 International Art and Literary Contests

Four Seattle Colleges students have earned awards in this year’s international student art and literary competitions sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College. These contests are held annually by the League and hosted and conducted by member institutions. Seattle Colleges' student participants advanced to the international competition from the local districtwide competition.
2024-2025 League for Innovation International Student Art Competition
- Best in Show Award: “Trompe L'oeil Cardboard Wall Clock, Teapot, and Cookie Jar Set” by Finian Long, South Seattle College
- Juror's Choice Award: “Mother Ocean” by Alannah Laret, North Seattle College
Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, served as the host college for the competition, bringing together local award-winning student works of art advanced by League member colleges.
2024-2025 League for Innovation International Student Literary Competition
- 2nd Place Award in the category of Poetry: “Evidence For and Against Solipsism” by Ramsey Jester, North Seattle College
- 3rd Place Award in the category of One-Act Play: “M.I.S.O. Soup” by Mathew Forster, North Seattle College
Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, served as the host college for the competition, bringing together local award-winning student literary works advanced by League member colleges.
