NUMBER: 606
TITLE: TUITION AND FEE WAIVER
The Seattle College District (SCD), as directed by the Board of Trustees, will provide a program of tuition and fee waivers as authorized by the Washington State Legislature and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, subject to the criteria set forth in RCW 28B.15.
606.10 Seattle College District implements the following mandatory waivers per statute
- Children and Spouse of Totally Disabled or POW/MIA or Deceased Eligible Veterans or National Guard Members
- Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Law Enforcement Officers or Firefighters
- Wrongfully Convicted Person
606.20 Seattle College District implements the following mandatory waivers per SBCTC Policy
606.30 Seattle College District implements the following optional waivers
- Eligible Veterans or National Guard Members
- Other Military or Naval Veterans
- Building/S&A Fee Waiver for DoD Tuition Assistance Program
- Financial Need Based Students
- High School Completion
- Over 18 Credit Exemption for Vocational Students — Resident and Nonresident
- Tribal Elder

- Higher Education Employees
- High School Completion — Nonresident
- Nonresident-Operating Fees Only
- Refugee
606.50 Seattle College District implements the following Space available waivers

606.70 Seattle College District implements the Running Start Fee Waiver
606.80 Seattle College District implements the following College’s mandatory and local fee waivers
- Seattle Central College MAC (Mitchell Activity Center) Waiver for special populations
- North and South Seattle College Apprenticeship & Pre-Apprenticeship Waiver for mandatory fees
This policy is intended to comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and governing requirements. In the event of any conflict, or if such authorities are amended, the applicable law, regulation, or governing requirement shall control.
