About Alaska

We are excited to announce the official kickoff of the Alaska Mentorship Program (AMT), held this week at The Hangar at Alaska. This year marks an inspiring milestone as 32 students begin their journeys in a paid, hands-on career development experience designed to connect Alaska’s young talent with industry opportunities.

Each participating student has been matched with a dedicated Alaska mentor, creating meaningful one-to-one relationships that will support career exploration, skill development, and confidence building. These mentors bring a wealth of knowledge from across the aviation and technical fields, offering students a direct window into professional life.

Mentorship

In addition to mentorship, students will take part in job-shadowing experiences, allowing them to observe real workplace settings, explore specialized roles, and learn from professionals in action. This combination of mentorship and practical exposure helps students gain clarity about future career paths while building valuable connections across the state.

The energy at The Hangar during the kickoff was unmistakable, students eager to learn, mentors excited to give back, and a community committed to lifting up the next generation. We’re proud to support these 32 exceptional young people and look forward to the growth and achievements that will follow.
