Training

The best thing you, as an employee, can do to help ensure our smooth transition to ctcLink is to complete online training, which is available now. Courses are arranged by employee category. Review the accordion sections below for the best match to your job responsibilities, and expand the accordion. Information on how to enroll is provided.

  • Courses are self-paced. Longer courses allow you to pause at certain points (end of modules) and continue at a later time so you do not need to complete the course all in one sitting.
  • If you are unsure which course you should complete, please check with your supervisor or pillar lead.

Additional Resources

ctcLink Reference Center

SBCTC hosts a detailed PeopleSoft reference called the ctcLink Reference Center. This is a great resource for detailed instructions on how a particular aspect of ctcLink will work.

Data Services and Coding Manual

SBCTC’s Data Services team has a website focused on how important data will get reported out of ctcLink. They also maintain a Student and Course Coding Manual that describes how specific types of students and types of courses are coded in both PeopleSoft and the legacy SMS system.

Global Design Adoption Courses

The Global Design Adoption (GDA) courses are self-paced Canvas courses that will introduce faculty and staff to how common processes like registration, billing, and admissions have been set up in PeopleSoft. There are 27 courses that cover all three pillars of PeopleSoft (Campus Solutions, Finance, and Human Capital Management). The courses are available to whoever wants the knowledge; however, staff and faculty will be required to take specific courses that pertain to their current job responsibilities. View the courses and sign up.

Glossary

One of the best steps you can take is to begin learning the language of PeopleSoft. The state board’s training team has a helpful online glossary, which is a good way to start learning the terms.
