Program Introduction

Get Started on a BAS in IT-Networking

If you have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Networking Design & Administration or an associate degree in related IT fields such as programming or Cyber Security, then you can advance your education with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Information Technology-Networking in just two more years. Currently, we only admit students into the program once a year for a Fall Quarter start. Students are part of a Cohort who take 2 programmatic Bachelor level classes and 1 general education class chosen with their advisor each quarter.

Here’s how to get started.

Eligibility Requirements

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a minimum GPA of 2.5 for related IT coursework.
  • Have completed an AAS or AAS-T in Network Design and Administration, Network Architecture, Programming, Cyber Security or in a different IT related discipline discipline. AAS-T should prepare students with knowledge of Network or Programming related concepts such as Operating Systems, Server Development and Communication, Security, Linux, and Enterprise Applications.
  • We strongly recommend that you complete 30 General Education classes prior to the BAS in IT-Networking program. Specifically, we recommend you take 10 credits of Communications-English (ENGL& 101 and ENGL& 102); 5 credits of VLPA (Humanities) (HUM& 105); 5 credits of Quantitative Reasoning (Suggested- Statistics such as MATH& 146); 5 credits of ICS (Social Sciences- suggested PSYC& 100); and 5 credits Natural World (Science- CSC 110 Programming Fundamentals suggested). Students who do not have 30 credits of General Education completed may be allowed to start the program, but will need to work with an advisor to create an academic plan that includes those additional General Education classes.
  • Prospective students are encouraged to meet with an advisor to discuss specific pre-program requirements and competencies. Please call 206-934-6358 or email itprograms.central@seattlecolleges.edu to schedule. Or visit https://itprogramscentral.youcanbook.me/
