Seattle Community Colleges offer Registered Nursing programs in three convenient locations: North Seattle, South Seattle and Seattle Central. Our programs provide a comprehensive curriculum that includes nursing theory and practical experience through supervised clinical practice.


Are you a good fit for nursing?

An SCCD nursing program might be a good fit for you if you enjoy science, like helping people and working as part of a team, and have good communication skills. Areas of study include chemistry, anatomy & physiology, microbiology, nutrition, pharmacology and a wide array of courses in nursing practice.


Outcomes of Education

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)

RN's with and ADN, may work in acute care (hospitals), sub-acute care, long-term and rehabilitation facilities , physicians' offices, clinics or home health care. Career advancement opportunities include specialists such as nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse midwives and nurse anesthetists.

Registered Nursing (RN)

RN career opportunities are available in all areas of health care, such as acute care (hospitals), long-term care and ambulatory care, including home care, clinics, and medical offices.

Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN)

An LPN may work in hospitals, clinics, doctor offices, home health care, long-term care, assisted living and nursing homes, other medical environments, and educational institutions.

Upon successful completion, students are prepared for entry-level ling-term and acute care nursing positions and are qualified to take the State of Washington Practical Nurse examination.
