Federal Student Loan Debt Forgiveness Plan
On Aug. 24, 2022, President Joe Biden announced many Americans can have up to $10,000 in federal student loan debt forgiven. That amount increases to $20,000 if they qualified for Pell grants.
Seattle Colleges students (including those at Seattle Central, North Seattle, and South Seattle) who want to know whether they are eligible for loan forgiveness should watch the federal student aid website for details. That site has a helpful Q&A and will be updated as new information is available.
Please note that the Financial Aid offices at the three Seattle Colleges are not able to assist in the student loan forgiveness process.
