Tanzania Release and Addendum (include signed release with application)

Article: Arusha, Tanzania

Join the Seattle Community Colleges Global Impact program in an expedition to Tanzania, East Africa!

Our partner, Green Foundation, is a local grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of community members in the village of Tengeru, a suburb of Arusha. Green Foundation has created several projects for Global Impact to work with locals in healthcare, education and organic farming. Our project sites include a regional hospital and dental clinic, several elementary schools, and an agriculture college which promotes organic farming techniques. Specific projects and individual assignments will be determined by matching the interests and skills of participants with the needs of the host community to maximize positive impact.

Program fee includes: On site coordinator; orientation, full room and board; domestic transportation upon arrival in Arusha, Tanzania; community project planning, set up, execution and follow up; project donation and material project purchase for the community; cultural activities.

Prices do not include international or domestic airfare, medical or trip insurance, gratuitites for on-site staff (approx $40), airport taxes, visa fees, Tanzania government volunteer tax ($120) or other personal expenses.

Note: There will be a free weekend in the middle of the program for individuals to go on a safari. Participants with flexible time can arrive early or stay for additional days to climb Mt. Kiliminjaro to ensure that this is the trip of a life time!

To sign up and reserve your place on this exciting trip, complete the application form. Limited scholarships are available for Seattle Community Colleges students.
