Article: The Sacred Valley of Peru

Global Impact, in partnership with ProWorld Service Corp, will work together with the Pan-American Health Organization, Peru Ministry of Health and our community hosts for a short term healthcare and service learning program.

Over half of Peru’s 25 million people live in poverty, making it one of the poorest countries in South America. Peru faces many troubling social and economic challenges, with the most serious being high unemployment and underemployment, a large national debt, and the disparity between the rich and poor. These conditions make it difficult for the country to provide its citizens with basic health care, education, sanitation, and other social services.

Note: There will be a free weekend in the middle of the program for individuals to arrange trips to Machu Picchu or other cultural/adventure activities.
