Global Impact is Seattle Community College District students, faculty
and staff, partnering with Seattle-area medical, educational and service-oriented community
organizations to deliver healthcare and volunteer service in developing countries.
If you would like to DONATE funds to support Global Impact projects, including medical supplies,
please complete this form.
Global Impact volunteers make a real difference in the lives of people in developing countries.
In return, the lives of volunteers are enriched by the simple act of serving others — and learning
to see the world from a different perspective. This experience is life-changing.
World Nomads from Australia filmed a documentary of 2009's
Vietnam Village Trek.
Stay tuned for a link to this documentary as soon it is available.

Article:
"Global Impact: Volunteer Opportunities for Family Physicians"
from: August 2008 issue of WA Family Physician's Journal.
Are you ready to be a Global Impact participant?
Please read our list of goals for
participants and for the "clients" we serve in developing countries. There are many
challenges and rewards.
There are many reasons why people choose to pay to volunteer.
"Long term research in education has shown that the single most important influence on an individual's lifelong
learning and effectiveness is the experience and attitudes gained while being engaged in a service project."
Dr. Don Belcher, MD, Global Impact Advisory Board
"Healthcare providers must have a global perspective on the patient population since a large number of our patients are
from other countries. Global Impact participants... will gain a better perspective on the health needs of a unique culture
by immersing themselves in that culture."
Professor Mary Sitterley, Nursing Instructor, Seattle Community Colleges ( South campus )
